Is it possible for me to use these to get off of my thyroid medication?
The short answer is maybe, and the long answer is that it depends.
Newer research suggests that up to 30% of thyroid patients may be able to deprescribe their thyroid medication.
Whether or not you need to remain on thyroid medication depends on your personal situation, how long you’ve had thyroid issues, whether or not the cause of your thyroid dysfunction can be reversed, and whether or not you’ve experienced permanent thyroid gland damage.
Generally speaking, the earlier you catch your thyroid problem and the less severe it is, the more likely you are to be able to eliminate the need for thyroid medication.
Having said that, there are definitely people out there who will need to take thyroid medication for life, so this doesn’t apply to everyone, and my thyroid support supplements are not meant to be a replacement for prescription thyroid medication.
They may be able to help your thyroid gland regain some of its former function, but you should never attempt to adjust your thyroid medication without physician supervision.
